I was recommended this gem of a restaurant as I was staying over in Dalston. Andu Cafe was a experience experience serving mouthwatering, plant-based dishes, One of the standout offerings here is the small sampler, which I highly recommend. It's the perfect way to explore a variety of delicious dishes, served with a choice of half rice and half injera (the traditional Ethiopian sourdough flatbread). The sampler lets you enjoy a little bit of everything, from rich, spiced lentils to perfectly cooked vegetables. Each bite bursts with layers of flavor, and the combination of hearty injera and fluffy rice is a match made in heaven. Not only is the food incredibly tasty, the balance of spices and the freshness of the dishes make every plate feel thoughtfully prepared. Beyond the food, the experience of enjoying eating with injera instead of utensils adds a fun, hands-on element, making your meal even more memorable. The welcoming atmosphere at Andu Cafe tops it all off, making you feel right at home. Whether you're vegan or not, Andu Cafe is a treasure worth discovering. Stop by to savor the sampler and treat yourself to an explosion of flavors you won't soon forget!

Unique vegetarian meal. I haven't come to East London for lunch for awhile now. This restaurant I have seen on the socials, and what intrigued was the cheap feed you can get. I came out to town and I've been shopping. I had downloaded a few hours of podcasts which required to be listened to and I'm not back into work til Friday. The sampler meal was adequately portioned and swiftly served. The injera was light and bubbly. I particularly enjoyed the gomen and shiro. Lots of flavour and added colour to the meal. I finished the meal with the spiced tea. Cash only.

The dark red lentil bit on the platter was by far the standout of the meal. A bonus for the jungle juice which is a soursop soya milk cinnamony drink. The perfect way to end a nourishing meal. They are also so kind and was easy enough to find a seat on a bank holiday!

A lovely vegan place with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. The lady that works there is lovely. It's cash only so don't forget to pass by the tesco cash machine just across the road before you head in. Enjoy!
